The official gold and red programme sets lists the Queen's Swindon engagements on 7th November 1997. These began with a visit to Gorse Hill School to open their new nursery; a trip to the National Monuments Record Centre (Historic England); and meeting local people in the Brunel Shopping Centre.

She was then driven to a reception in the State Rooms of Lydiard Park where she met representative's of business and the commercial and voluntary sectors, followed by lunch hosted by Swindon Chamber of Commerce.

In the afternoon the Queen toured the factory floor at Focus Ltd and finished the day with tea in the Mayor's parlour.

The programme contains a message from Swindon Mayor, Cllr Maurice Fanning. Cllr Fanning is pictured in the Library at Lydiard Park, where successive Swindon mayor's have had their formal photographs taken.
