Mike Gough, General Manager at Lydiard Park Conference Centre (HTS Lydiard Park) recalls the Queen's visit to Lydiard Park on November 7th 1997 including behind the scenes details from sniffer dogs to the hard task of having to deliver the lunch from a 'kitchen several hundred circuitous metres from the Bolingbroke lounge which we had turned into a dining room' on the first floor.

Mike was General Manager at Lydiard Park Conference Centre for ten years between 1993-2003. His article provides background on the company and its important role in supporting the upkeep of Lydiard House.
