An early and sadly much blemished photograph showing 32 pupils of Hook School in the late 19th century.

The school master standing on the left of the group, and school mistress on the right are most probably husband and wife, Barnaby and Jane Brown.

The boy sitting 6th from the right in the middle row is believed to be Bert Strange.
