Vernon St.John, 6th Viscount Bolingbroke (1896-1974) opened and ran a shop called The St.Johns' Music Stores in the heart of the old Cotswold town of Tetbury in Gloucestershire. As this bill records, the shop was in operation in Market Street in the 1930s and stocked gramophones, records, sheet music as well as undertaking repairs to gramophones and musical instruments.

The shop reflected Lord Bolingbroke's passion for music. It ultimately folded due to the up and coming popularity of radios.

This bill was generously gifted to The Friends of Lydiard Park by a private donor in 2023.
