Transcripts of 189 letters held in private hands which were made available to Canon Brian Carne. Part 1 covers documents numbered 1-100. They start with a letter dated July/August 1570 to John and Nicholas St.John, 2 letters from 1633 and 1637 relating to Sir John St.John, 1st baronet and 4 -100 are letters, lists, menus and accounts of the time of Sir Walter St.John, 3rd baronet and Lady Johanna, commencing in 1656. Lady Johanna's correspondence is of particular interest as they relate to recipes and medicines.
