A striking view of Lydiard House from the avenue by Swindon artist, the late Peter Burton.

The picture won first prize in a painting competition organised by Lydiard House.

Peter painted Lydiard many times including the State Rooms interiors. When Queen Elizabeth II visited Lydiard Park in 1997, her parting gift from Swindon Council was a painting by Peter which showed the house and park in glowing Autumn colours.
