This carved marble monument to Oliver St.John 1st Vsct Grandison (1559-1639) and his wife Lady Joan Holcroft (ne Roydon), is one of a number of fine St.John family monuments in St. Mary's Church Battersea.

Oliver bought the Manors of Wandsworth and Battersea in 1627 and both he and his wife were buried there. Joan died shortly after her husband in 1631.
