A personal and affectionate letter from the English poet, writer and broadcaster, John Betjeman (JB) to Vernon St. John, 6th Viscount Bolingbroke, 30th June 1969. In it JB responds to Lord Bolingbroke's congratulations on JB's receiving a peerage. Includes JB's recollections of a visit by Lord Bolingbroke to his former home in Uffington, Wiltshire. He writes:

'I remember that your motorcar had a khaki coloured folding roof, which certainly dates the time to well before the war'.
