Enamel Home Guard lapel badge which belonged to Vernon St.John, 6th Viscount Bolingbroke (d.1974).

Vernon is believed to have joined the Home Guard whilst still living at Lydiard Park in 1940, however he does not feature on the photograph of the Lydiard Tregoze Home Guard shown below.

The badge is part of a collection of military badges and other military items which Vernon kept until the end of his life. The collection was generously donated to The Friends of Lydiard Park by a private donor in 2023.
