The Church Magazine was a national magazine for the Church of England. Individual churches wrapped the content with their own news and notices.

In March 1940 the Lydiard Tregoz information includes parish accounts, membership of the church council and forthcoming Easter services.

Lydiard Millicent is represented inside the back cover with a letter from. H. F. Shepherd who writes in a slightly disparaging tone about people's reluctance to supply the names of soldiers for prayers to be offered for their safety. He ends, ' Perhaps we shall realize soon that there really is a war, and that what we do can have some effect with God's help but not without'.

Also shown here are some pages from the main body of the magazine to demonstrate the type and tone of material included.

The magazine was kindly donated by Revd. Captain Clive Deverell of St. Mary's Lydiard Tregoze, who was given it by a local resident.
