A thoroughly researched article on the origins of the farm and the likelihood of that being in the early medieval period. Details of archaeological survey and investigation are included.

The authors trace the history of successive inhabitants from the Clark family who first leased the farm from Lord Bolingbroke in 1839, the Kinchin family who occupied it later that century, the sale of the farm in 1930, and the Cove family occupation between 1940-1984.
