In 2006 the State Bed at Lydiard House was reupholstered in drab coloured silk. Skilled needlewomen from Kennet NADFAS (now known as Kennet and Swindon Art Society), embroidered individual copies of the painted glass quarries in the early 17th century window in the adjoining Dressing Room.

The team, which was led by Moira Abel, created a piece of art in its own right and their work is admired by visitors to the house.
