Solicitors letter from Royds & Rawstorne to Canon St.John, 23rd November 1899

Hidden Content, Images, Videos and Documents
This revealing letter continues a correspondence between Canon Maurice St.John and his solicitors, Royds & Rawstorne, in their quest to find out more about Lady Bolingbroke and her children following the death of the 5th Viscount Bolingbroke. The Canon's solicitor (name not deciphered) informs his client that he has seen Lord Bolingbroke's will and that the viscount has left 'everything absolutely to his wife'. He says the will makes no mention of the children.
A Miss St.John is referred to as a possible source of information. This is most likely to be Antonia St.John, a cousin of the canon. Alternatively it might possibly be
Nellie St.John, the illegitimate daughter of the 5th Viscount and Ellen Medeux. St.John Oswell, Managing Clerk at Bevirs & Sons, the late viscount's solicitors, is mentioned as a person of interest due to his intimacy with the family.
