Prince Harry opened the Field of Remembrance in the Walled Garden at Lydiard Park on November 10th November 2010.

The garden is one of six national Fields of Remembrance in the UK and was chosen due to its proximity to Royal Wootton Bassett, a town that witnessed the repatriation of soldiers killed in Afghanistan and Iraq. Every year volunteers help plant over 1000 tributes across the six fields. Each tribute has a name or personal message to someone who lost their life in the service of his or her country.
