Professional photograph of the felled 'Midgehall oak tree' with seven local children. The tree was a noted ancient tree in Lydiard Tregoze and its felling was newsworthy. A typed label records it being 1000 years old.

Left to Right:

Beryl Arthurs, Bertha Titcombe (sister to Malcolm Titcombe), Helen Embling, Leslie Webb, Dennis Matthews, and (in front) Jack Allen.

It is quite possibly the same tree which appeared in a local newspaper - The Fallen Monarch - which describes a 1000 year old oak being felled in Lydiard Park.
