While Vernon St.John , 6th Viscount Bolingbroke, attended the Southern Command School of Instruction for NCO's he played violin in the Bijou Orchestra. The concert programme for Aug 24th 1917 was held in the Regimental Institute Canteen and included rousing wartime songs like 'PUSH AND GO' and 'BOUND TO WIN'.
