The advertisement is part of a significant collection of photographs relating to the Edmonds family of Lydiard Tregoze. Edwin Hugh Edmonds had established a successful agricultural engineering company in Hook in the second half of the 19th century. By the time this advertisement was made the workshops had moved, expanding into a more prominent location opposite the old Prince of Wales Pub at Coped Hall, Wootton Bassett. The Lyneham branch was managed by William Edmonds.
