The great marble monument which Sir John St.John 1st Baronet (d1648) built for himself and his two wives also commemorates his thirteen children by his first wife, Anne Leighton (d. 1628).

The boys kneel at their parents head and the girls at their feet. The children that did not survive infancy are represented on the base of the monument.
