Photographs showing conservation in progress and completed work on the 15th century wallpainting of St. Christopher. The removal of an 18th century tablet obscuring part of the scene revealed a blocked up niche containing fragments of a statue, including part of a face. The entire figure would have been s far bigger than the recess allowed for and we await the conclusions of the conservator's report.

The conservation work was undertaken by Jane Rutherfoord & Associates with assistance from trainee conservators as part of the St. Mary's Conservation Project funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund, the Friends of Lydiard Park and other donors.
