Professional photograph taken during haymaking on Lower Hook Farm, Lydiard Tregoze. The men and boy are posing next to a horse drawn haymaking machine, manufactured by Bamfords - an agricultural and engineering business in Staffordshire. The machine looks new in the photograph and was possibly the reason the picture was taken.

Ernest Titcombe is seen standing on the far left of the picture and on the far right, his brother John Titcombe. Both are holding pitchforks. The machine would have lifted and tossed the mown hay (tedding), leaving it in narrow rows, ready for bailing.
