Painting of Park Farm, Hook Street, Lydiard Tregoze by German POW Peter Probst who was a prisoner in 160 POW Hospital Camp, Lydiard Park during 1947 to 1948.

Prisoners were detained following the end of the war whilst their papers were being examined. During and after the war many worked on local farms. After undergoing a minor operation Peter spent time working at Park Farm which was the nearest farm to the Camp. He was known there and at Lydiard House and made paintings for local families of Lydiard landmarks.

Several of Peter's paintings survive in the safekeeping of local residents. See Items of Interest - Paintings of Lydiard House and St. Mary's Church by Peter Probst to find out more about his story.
