Probably the first brochure produced by Swindon Council to advertise Lydiard Park to the general public. The booklet includes images of the house taken by Country Life Magazine in 1948 and references Sir Hugh Casson's account of visiting Lydiard Park a few years later. It records,

'Although the Mansion at Lydiard has been saved, much work remains to be completed. In particular, the Corporation (Swindon Council), with the help of private and public bodies, is now engaged in the task of furnishing the building'.

Admission to 'the mansion' as it was referred to at the time was 1/6d for adults and 9d for children.
