Ivy, James (Jimmy), Gertie and Elizabeth (Tops) Garret grew up at 18 Washpool, Lydiard Millicent where these photographs were taken. Several of the children were musical.

In the first photograph Ivy and James are pictured playing violins with their younger sister Gertie singing. On the reverse of the postcard the children's names are written in pencil with the title 'The Three Twerps'.

A second photograph shows Ivy and her younger sister, Tops.

The third and oldest photograph shows James, Elizabeth (?) and Gertie beautifully dressed, standing next to a large water butt in the garden at Washpool.

Gertie went on to marry Roland Gough. The couple lived in 'the camp' at Lydiard Park and during World War II became the first caretakers of Lydiard House.
